I wasn't going to sell but after our run out the other day, I realise I need even more "oomph".
I would like to put a 5 litre under the bonnet but then I'd put people of buying it - unless I stuck a SEAC badge on the back aswell hehe

Hello Lee, Hi chaps.

Been lurking for a while now and am seriously considering a wedge as a tunnel-run tool/weekend toy (since falling in love with yellowwedge's beast on a run at easter time). I realise Lee's car has had plenty of £££ spent, but I know from experience that you can spend loads and not get it back come sale time.......are any top notch wedges actually making this sort of money because your average punter is going to go Griff/Chim (already considered that route myself!)

I am ok with the spanners, couldnt rebuild an engine as such, but have done head gaskets on a RV8 before, engine swaps, triple 40 dellorto conversion on my 260Z back in the 80's....so I am competent, but in my mid 40's dont want to spend my life in the garage anymore so therefore will not be buying a 'project' but will not be paying 10k+ either.

Feedback please guys......and no offence taken Lee I hope (we all know she's probably worth every penny really)wink

You dirty dog! If you wanted more than the $82xx you had it posted for last December I would have paid the difference! I'm not disappointed with my second choice of wedge as he's a good solid car, but I was practically in tears when the deal didn't go through. Seeing it up for sale just brought back a flood of old emotions all over again.

I remember you'd posted orignally your sale offer was for a griff back then. If you found a good one to replace the wedge, I wish you the best... reluctantly. :P

BTW, still got that tach/speedo combo for sale?

The 400 is up for highish money but the condition and history justifies this in my opinion. Since last year, I have spent a small fortune in getting the car to the standard it is in now - hence the higher price. Ask anyone at Wedgefest who saw it as the condition really is outstanding.

As for wedges making this kind of money, I have 2 very intersted parties (and lots of timewasters from Nigeria) so yes - I think if the condition is right, they will fetch the right money. I should be able to back this claim up in the next few days with a big "SOLD" across the advert.

As for going the Griff route, many have gone that way - and many have regretted it and come running back to the wedge fold with their tail between their legs.

Mike, sorry you think I'm a dirty dog but yes I do still have the clocks - just not had the time to clean them up yet.

Obviously a well known car Steve but as I am a bit of a Wedge newbie could you email me info/pics & price via my profile. Its not in the classified section is it?

I will be seeing yellow wedge's car this weekend (not to buy though) cant wait to hear it again biggrin

I didn't mean that literally.

I'm just a little sad that I didn't end up with it, and jealous someone else will. biggrin
