Boot catch wont catch boot

I've recently fitted external hinges onto my boot so I can get a spoiler to fit, but now the boot catch wont catch, it sounds like its touching but wont trigger the catch, the spring catch works fine but just wont trigger with the catch bracket. I first thought it was because the bracket bolts wouldnt tighten on the boot but recently sorted this by putting extra washers on to shorten the grip length. (But they still go loose now and then when I try diffeent positions for the catch) Can anyone please post a couple of pics of how their's is fitted, side profile and from the inside of the boot would be good? There maybe something I'm missing, there's gotta be!

Or just my total lack of mechanical knowledge!
Just picked up a tap and die kit to rethread the holes, not sure which one to use to redo the hole and what bolt I would need to put in afterwards, anyone help me on that? The present bolt fits a 10mm socket head, not sure what size it is?

I think they will be M6's

Your right Leigh, just got a few different sized ones and the new M6 bolts fit fine so hopefully wont need to replace the threads, now I just need Lisa in the boot again with her torch! No boot bracket pics anyone? Theyd help a loti think

All sorted Lisa's locked away nice and safe!

The bracket had been bent slightly and got it straightened
Just gotta do stage 3 of the project...add the spoiler!!

Well tomorrow should be the day folks! Spoilers been on, but I've had to increase the size of the boot holes somewhat to get all the bolts to bite
