They come up now and again on fleabay.
Get yours re-veneered for about £250
or re-veneer it yourself for about £20.

I know for a fact that TVRcarparts.com stocks the wooden dash sets for some of the wedges.

I saw a smashing job on someone's gold series 1 car at the BBWF (but didn't get their name I'm afraid) and learned that it was done by City Polishers.

I'm assuming this is the one in Spalding, and having sent appropriate photos etc., I've just been quoted £160 by them for the 3 panels on a 350i series 2. The contact point was nick@nicholas-martin.co.uk. I'm now undecided whether to have a go myself ... by the time I've bought wood, tools, lacquer, glue, am I going to be that much better off? confused

On the other hand, there's always carbon fibre matting ...

In my, the very humblest of opinions, the wood looks much better than ally or CF. I got some decent part burr walnut from timberline in Tonbridge, Rustins plastic coating (2 part).

Stuck the veneer down with Evostick 528 contact. About 20 coats of Rustins, flatting off with Lubrisil 400 grit and then a polish with Brasso.

Door strips look pretty good!

I should have my CF dash sorted very soon, prob about 2 weeks, so will post pic's when done.

I think CF will need ali bezels to give a nice contrast. as the gauges are black also.

If I don't make a mistake it should have cost me less that £100.

I've got some 3m double sided adhesive, so going to fix the CF with that.

How easy is it to cut the CF material? The nature of the dash means that edges are exposed, which worries me a bit about that - are the edges naturally neat?

Also, where would you get the bezels from?

Well Karl was selling the bezels, but not sure if he has many sets left, plus he's not planing to make any more once they have all gone.

CF cuts very will with a dremil cutting disc and HQ hole cutter's
my speodo and center console's have a leather beeding round them so this will hide any inperfections, but you can get a good finsh with sanding. 1000+

plus the glove box sinks into the leather quite a bit so this should hide any inperfections also.

I should have the glove box finished this week as that's the easiest, so will post a pic when done

Well I striped all my old walnut off last night.
Removed the glue
and sanded down the metal, so it got a nice flat but rough surface.

I found a quick way to remove the old walnut.
Stick it under the grill for 5 mins.
Make sure the windows are open, and the wife is out though.

Also nitromorse is very good at removing the old glue, don't let it re-set though.

If it stops raining I'll try and get the glove box done tonight.
