Well I think to get me back on the road ASP.

I going to get a new rad as they are about 130 + vat. I maybe able to get one trade so may even be cheeper. a re-core is from 80-150 so a new one sounds a better choice.

Plus I'll have the old one to send to a ali frabricators.

I currently have a 12" fan, is it worth upgrading this, or should I just get a Kenlowe adjustable stat.

Most of the time you see them on the front of the rad, and I would lose the cowling and the daft rubber flappy things. The only reason all that borrox is there is so that when the fan sucks, the only path from the front of the car to the fan is thru the rad. With 1 or two kenlowes stuck to the rad, all that rubbish is redundant. Plus it'll sound better, rather than the raspy death ghasps of a 20 year old fan clouting the plastic shroud every couple of seconds. Or maybe thats just mine...
Must get those fans sorted...

Actually, www.carbuildersolutions.co.uk do a pretty good range of fans, and cheaper than kenlowe et al.

Tell you what might work, although I haven't tried it... the twin fan setup from an Esprit. It has a moulded plastic shroud that fits the long narrow type of rad. and mounts two Ford Fiesta fans (4 orange blades).
On my Esprit the fans were sequential and there's a fan fail circuit that flags up a dash light. Should be easy to copy for a Wedge... the shroud is probably available from SJ Sportscars or the Ebay seller known as 'lancia4wd', who breaks Lotuses.
On the Esprit the fans were mounted to suck.

Keep the cowling, it means the whole radiator area works rather than just the small part swept by the fans. Also make sure that there is no path from the engine bay side of the radiator back round to the front. The fans will maintain a pressure difference trying to suck air through any small gaps. Changing the amount of cold air going through the rad makes very little difference (big fans not *that* much better than small ones) but diluting the cold fresh air with hot from the engine bay makes a big difference to the amount of cooling. Sometimes with a cowling you'll see little trap doors to let extra air blow through the radiator at high speed, but with a decent air intake you'll have more air than you know what do do with at high speed; it's at low speed that you will have trouble, and the main enemy here is air recirculation.

Thanks GV8, I thought they would not have gone to all that trouble to make one for no reason.

Look like I'll keep the current set-up, but with a adjustable otter and over ride switch, and dash light to tell me if its on.

Well I've now got the Griff Ali twin fan Rad,

So going to put 2 spal fans on it.

I think a high out put fan is about 2300 M3/hr

would 2 x 1400 M3/Hr do the same job.

or would I need to High output.
