I found with mine when I fitted a remote central locking I had to replace the drivers door motor and then had problems with the opening from the inside, could not get out of the car
On looking into the mechanics of the door, you have 3 very flimsy bits of metal rods controlling the lock, inner handle and outer handle. Then the plastic tube with the metal bike cable that connects to the window gets in the way and knocks the rods out of alignment.
It took a while to get everything to talk to each other nicely and fine adjust so it all worked with windows up down and in the middle. So be prepared for a good afternoon of fiddlng

Well I still need to fit my Central locking, and my new ish shinny door handles with the TVR logo in them. as they was on the doner 280i for some reason. did not think they did them till 1991.
Good luck wit te handles there Leigh, I tried to get mine out when I sprayed the car, could not budge the screws holding them on. Hence why I've now fitted remote locking to the standard central locking, as I broke a key in the drivers door and can't get that out without undoing the handles

My missus also tells me her passenger door always has problems closing despite the window being oopen or not and swears its not her
, would this be just a little oil/grease needed inside?
Possibly a bit out of adjustment on the lock striker plate at rear of door. Mine used to do that and you could just push the door open as it would never shut properly. Another fiddle and all eventually shut. Looks like you now spending whole day on doors

Interestingly anyone else notice how difficult to shut the doors when 1 side of the car is jacked up - a slight twist of the chassis / body

Cheers Darren, I've noticed shutting the door is a problem when jacked up on other cars
Yep - quite common..Suspect the issue is not just outrigger / chassis movement but might also be due to the rubber packing
or no-contact of this (metal chassis to fiberglass shell) .. and this causes the problem.
