just went to my local diy store and found thay had the same catch that was fitted to the glove box made by securit called a touch latch ref no s5452 and at only 1.45 and being that mine was a bit tarnished got one got home and removed the old one its the same in every way put the new one on and now the glove box seams a lot smoother when used

You can also buy them from B&Q fro about 2 quid. Its a loft catch.

The one I bought was EXACTLY, and I mean EXACTLY the same as the old one.

The boot release button is also available from Maplins for about £1.50 if it ever breaks.

P.S. the thing that amazes us but shouldnt is that TVR also went to B&Q/Maplins in search of switches and catches!!
