Exhaust manifolds
Discussion
Pondering replacing my manifolds with Stainless ones. ACT, RT Racing or any other suggestions.
My intention was to fit the manifolds, carry out any mods to them to stop them rubbing on the chassis, if possible, then fabricate a system out of SS, probably going under the diff and out. I would probably fit bungs to both manifolds to accept WB lambda sensors.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Is it stainless steel .. it is tough stuff.. just come back in from the workshop .. making an exhaust part for the SEAC !
Not making it even louder are we Rev????No - some add on silencers bit like a track day silencer but really to help make my neighbours lives a little quieter. I have a new ECU to map and that is going to be tiresome for them..
Guess I'll be getting an ASBO soon

Why not go down the nearest industrial estate at the weekend - the rest of the bolt-on barries whizzing around will cover perfectly for all that revving!
Probably break down on way theredue to bad fuelling
Looking foward to seeing the fit of new install Alan as will do one oneday soon. Are you managing to use most of your standard sensors or also upgrading them ?

But have to fit a crank sensor and exhaust gas and wide band lambda sensors.. I've already put these on the exhaust - so it's just a matter of screwing them in and cabling them..

You using 2 4 coil packs, or getting 1 8 pack. I was thinking on buying 3 4 coil packs and bolt them on the bulkhead, as then I've got a spare if one fails on me
Saw it done on a V8 rally escort that way and though that's a sensible get you home idea
Might be an idea for you Leigh if you go coil pack / dissyless route. as only a couple of wires to disconnect / reconnect if an issue on either bank

I went to P D Gough in Watnall Nottingham and they fitted one to the car. That involved staying the night up there.
I went back about a year later and they fitted manifolds.
They are still on the car and I am happy with them - but they still rub the chassis if I am not careful about adjusting the engine mounts occasionally.

Think that under diff would restrict the clearance under the car. Would go for standard routing (over a drive shaft and exit to the left or right and not in the middle).
That reminds me that I have a stainless exhaust that still needs fitting. And it is UK spec, so would loose the rear (under booth) silencer and hopefully cure my standard 'quiet' continental wedge noise.

I have put mine under the dif and in fact it is no lower than the silencer, as you can tell from the damage to my silencer as really scuffed, but no marks on the drainpipe feeding from the silencer to the rear of the car. I then did a 90 bend at end and mated up to original exhaust going across car to come out in the normal tail pipe exit on the 400. Would be a good way to adapt to a twin exit, but never got round to it yet

P.D.Gough Rule! I was up there for business and booked the wedge in too - they made it during the day. Not bad considering the rear pipes had rotted off and I had stuck an old bit of pipe into one of the rear boxes! I also had them go up to the next pipe size for a few extra quid.I went back about a year later and they fitted manifolds.

This was 14 years ago. The exhaust went onto my white wedge - which I wrote off - then onto my grey one after that one's exhaust rotted too. And it's still going strong! I occasionally weld up the odd crack especially around the centre box mounts - induced by speed bumps.
The strange thing is that when I was there they specifically stated that they "would never make another wedge exhaust" - as it's a bit tricky.
