450 SE Wing Mirrors
Discussion
Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
It appears the wiring between the adjustment switch and the mirrors has been changed by previous owner(s). A symptom is when switch to one or other of the mirrors and then using the joystick to adjust it, both mirror motors whirr.
Does that explain? Please let me know.

I believe mine does that as well, but only the mirror that is switched does actually move.
Probably the same with most Wedges as my 350 also did that
Any other out there do this ?
Congrats on the 450 SE AS it's what I have now - allbeit a 400 with 450 BV engine in -, also hope yours is a flapper as much more noise

To be clear, both motors shouldn't whirr when I have toggled to one or the other?

I did an article for Wedgepages that had the circuit diagram; it transpired that the exact same circuit down to the colour-codes of the wires was as used on the SAAB 99. The joystick was also found on the Mk. 2 Granada so presumably that wiring was the same as well!
The design of the circuit is such that whichever mirror is NOT being adjusted will still clatter when the joystick is moved (IIRC) up and down.
