Don't worry - it was in the X5, not the wedge.

Basically, I spotted a well known car full of traffic wardens pull up opposite my house as I was going out last night. I was not to amused to see them jump straight out and start writing out tickets without giving the permitted 5 minutes waiting period so I drove up to them and wound down the window to give them an earfull when someone went into the back of me eek

I jumped out the car to see a Ford puma sitting in my ass. I had a look at the damage with the boyfriend of the young lass driving the car and as the young lass driver got out of the car, she was beckoned over by the traffic wardens. Within seconds she alleged that I had reversed into her!!!!!!

Here’s me outside my home, with some young lass lying through her teeth, a traffic warden willing to back up her story (no doubt to get one over on me giving him a hard time) and her bloke (who did not say one single word throughout) all as witnesses.

I had a very minor scratch on the underneath of my back bumper which has polished out without a trace and the top surface of her bonnet was a little dented, presumably where she had dived hard on her brakes and submarined the front of her car under my rear bumper?

She happens to work at a Ford dealership and asked them for an estimate which has now grown to a bonnet, 2 headlights, font wings, bumper, paint etc which comes to £1400!!!!!!

She gave me ultimatum today of giving her £1400 cash to fix the car or she will claim on my insurance (she says she can because she has 2 witnesses).

Where do I stand guys? Am I phucked? Do I stand any chance of keeping my full no claims bonus?

Any comments appreciated.

Very much pished off.

Report it to the police

They will (should!) be able to establish the truth

The pepipoo website is very good, stick your story on there.

Does the X5 have any electronic black box to back up your version of events? If so, get the data downloaded off it pronto.

Also consider a stiff solocitor's letter stating that if her claims are not substantiated she'd be looking at fraud and perjury (if it came to court). I very much doubt the TW will be willing to perjure himself. Did you actually start mouthing off or was it just at the point of winding down your window?

Wouldn't worry about it Lee. I was stood at the side of the road at the time and saw everything (two can play at that game). You were stationery and she ran into you. And the traffic wardens parents were not married...

Seriously though, you should contact trhe police and the traffic wardens boss and make a formal complaint. Just keep making more noise than her, mate.

Wee man.

She does not have two witnesses as the boyfriend passenger will not be admissible? It should be obvious from the paint damage on her car to determine the direction of the scrape up or down, if she dived into you under heavy breaking then reversed back it will be the opposite of you reversing into her. Counter claim using your insurance company asap

As others have said report it to your insurance NOW they will sort it, I wonder if she, or her new found friends would be keen on signing a written statement. The insurance co would also want 2 quotes.

Hollie had some damage done to her 04 KA sport bonnet small dent and a few deep scrapes total cost at Ford main dealers, repair and repaint £160

Good Luck Matey

If you don't admit fault then it nearly impossible for them to claim off your insurance even with witnesses.

It will just go down as knock for knock. so you should not loose your no claims if you don't get them to pay for your repair. you will have a record of a accident though that you will have to report when you get / Renew any insurance.

but speak to your insurance ASAP though.

I've had accident's that was clearly not my fault but the other party did not admit it was there fault so it just done as knock for knock. One Example they reversed across a junction into the side of my car. police was involved. her excuse was she should not look behind because she could not turn round because she was pregnant. these people should not be able to breed.
