Yep, a V6 can be upgraded to V8, as you could get a 350 Tazzer. Brakes on a standard Tasmin are poo, but can be upgraded in many ways. Hispecs, APs Wilwoods or the like are all possible.
Might need a different clutch master cylinder to get the pedal travel right, or even conversion to hydraulic if the 280 was a cable job.
Rev counter might need to be changed, as will all of the engine wiring. Propshaft might also need modification, but Bailey Morris Propshafts of Eaton Socon are the boys for this. Or Proptec, who are in London somewhere I think...
Back end was common between the V6 and V8, but later on the Drophead cars did go to Wishbone suspension which improved handling quite a bit. Dont even think about doing this upgrade, as the chassis is quite different.
Good luck.

You could get a '350 Tazzer' as you say, but the chassis around the engine bay was widened to take the V8...Might need a different clutch master cylinder to get the pedal travel right, or even conversion to hydraulic if the 280 was a cable job.
