Petrol cap

Looking for a locking cap for the fuel filler for a 350i. Does anyone know what the donor car is for the pipe, or is it a TVR special.

If you are not bothered what it looks like I suggest getting a motorbike locking filler cap. Go to a local bike breakers yard armed with your filler cap - preferably in your car and I am sure you will find something that will fit. It is very similar to ones fitted to old triumphs and BSA's.

TR7, available from Triumph specialists or TVR dealers. A big shiny chrome thing with an escutchion.

Hmm I've been down this route and contacted a Truimph parts specialist, but they told me the TR7 cap doesn't fit the TVR 350i series II.

I am still looking for the nice aluminium locking version if you manage to find one can you drop me the part number as I crave some shiny lockability.

Only other option is the standard black plastic lockable which you can get in Halfords, which although secure looks a bit drab for my baby....

Would these fit the 350SE? The original petrol cap looks the same as one on the early chimaeras (black metal)

My 390 had a locking cap fitted by the factory when I bought it. It didn't work very well as the fuel came out round corners.
The factory replaced it with a lock on the flap - originally chrome finish but painted black which didn't last very long.

I have just replaced my locking one with a Leven alloy one.

Stopped all the fuel leakage problems I have been having. I also figure that due to the way the fuel gets into the tank, it will be just about impossible to syphon off anyway.

Do the screws just go straight into the body?

Doesn't stop someone stealing your nice shiny petrol cap though.

Series 1 FHCs have two.

The other thing though, is that anyone can put nasty stuff INTO your tank, without a locking cap.

Looks identical to mine (1987 SEAC)
Give Neil a ring as he's got a couple of Wedges down there that he could try it on. Ask him really nice and he could bring it to BBWF with him

Should think it will - it's exactly the same as mine (on A 400 SE).
