Got the body of the Race car.
Discussion
Does not look like, its going to take too much to get a LT77 and Rv8 in,
Will have to but new Gearbox mounts and Engine mounts. but does not look like I will have to change any of the main structure.
But only time will tell.
Had a good turn out of guys from off PH.
And it all went to plan.

Leigh,
Was it easy enough to remove the body? The more we look at this 390 we've just bought the more it looks like the body needs to come off.
Apart from the brake servo, clutch cylinder, some wiring and the heater hoses I dont see much else thats needs removing before the body bolts. Or am I missing something??

But it helped being a Race car as most things are stripped anyway.
I think somone posted a detailed post on what you need to remove.
my body came off very easy with about 8 people.
one thing I would do if I did it again. would be to raise the one end of the whole car up via a jack, and then block up the body and then lower the car off the body. repeat at the other end.
This way you can make sure everything is disconnected, and the chassis and body are removed evenly. this should help to stop stress crack when being lifted at multiple points.
you would only need to lift it this way by a inch. also this way you can do it at your own pace, not the pace of all the people you have gotten round to help.
I was less bothered as it was only the Race Car that a bit battle scared anyway. I would have been more unhappy if it was my 400SE. as they had to give it a bit of a giggle to get the car off the chassis.

disconnect fuel pipes at both ends, remove swirl pot
disconnect fuel sender, reversing light switch, gear box and 2 engine earths
remove all body fixing bolts (approx 16 fixings)
get your mates round and remove body, i have made a temporary trolly up to push it around on.
