this just sold on ebay in the US

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...

anyone here buy it?

Big price for a wedge here in the US. At 6300GBP it still seems a lot for a 280.

It seems many US cars are heading back across the pond to the UK or mainland Europe. The Lotus Esprit seems to be the most popular to ship.

True - a fair bit of wedge for a wedge, but it only has 3k miles and sat in a dealers showroom until 2001. Not as bad as it first appears to sound...

Aircon. hehe

Gutless US spec. engine. hehe

Room for a comb in the boot.hehe

Heavy as ***k girders on each end. hehe

No wonder they didn't bother to take it out of the showroom.

I can see the appeal of buying a very low mileage, probably mint condition Tasmin as a collectors piece

BUT

For that money, I would've had to have gone for a 390SE AT LEAST

As someone who is familiar with the car in question, it is an excellent example of the model. Remove those awful federal bumpers front and rear and replace them with the Euro versions like I just did on my 1984, and you'll shed quite a few pounds of excess weight. A little tuning on the 2.8 and I think you'll find it enjoyable to drive. Of course it's not a V8, but unlike you guys on that side of the pond, we weren't fortunate enough to have the V8 models sent over here to the states so we had to make do with the V6.

Sorry Taimar...didn't mean to hurt your feelings.wink

It's such a shame that the US boys couldn't have had the 'full-on' versions.

I'm hoping to hop over there this summer to attend some motorsport...homeland security permitting rolleyes

graham48, no offence taken. If you are going to be anywhere along the east coast for any motorsport events, let me know and maybe we can meet up.
Our national TVRCCNA event will be held in late September. If you are going to be here around that time, we'd love to have you join us.
