I've just removed the swirl pot from my 350i with the intention of replacing some of the fuel hoses. It rattles eek Is the rattle part of the hi-tech fuel preparation system installed in the Wedge or can I assume it's knackered. If so, where's the best place to get a new one?

As a matter of interest, what is the purpose of the swirl pot? What does it do? confused

Thanks. Don.

Helps keep a constant fuel pressure by getting air bubbles out of the fuel.Tempus smile

Thanks guys. Does mine sound as though it's knackered or is the rattling thing part of the technology?

Gerry - do a search - this has come up recently .. the internals become loose and stop filtering.

The swirlpot has a function - that is to retain fuel when cornering - so the fuel pump does not run dry and self destruct.

Others such as TVR Leigh have sourced replacements ..
