450 beats Ferrari at its own game NICE !
Discussion
I bought the mag to read the article. It was a crap piece of journalism in my opinion and didn't say much about the 450 itself and discussed the history of the Wedge cars instead of focussing on the car in hand. Even the performance figures don't match with the figures they have in the car reference guide at the back of the mag. Must try harder!!
Must admit that the 308 Ferrari is one of my all time favourite Feraris and I'm glad a 450 can hold its own against one.

Haven't read the mag..YET...not due in Tosco til Friday, but if it's a 308GTB they're comparing it to, well I used to be chauffeured around in one of those for years by my best mate at the time, and a 450 would pee all over on acceleration ...handling-wise probably not.
His car also had the reg. '308GTB'...cool, eh.

The owner of a certain TVR 'specialist' (somewhere just off the A1 in N. Yorks) used to have a 308. Something to do with the profits from the cars he sold. I recall his words were "I don't rate 'em but the lads like 'em so we keep getting 'em in".His car also had the reg. '308GTB'...cool, eh.

308GTB 0-60 was only 6.5 secs.
252bhp, 209ftlbs torque, weight 1250kg.
To be fair, those are 1975 figures and the car looked lovely and sounded nice, with excellent handling....a real bird-puller.
Cost plenty too of course.
My friend bought his new, and it was a rare fibreglass-bodied one. He was a racing driver (F5000 and F2) so knew how to scare the s
t out of me.
At the time I had a S3 Lotus 7 with a very tuned motor which would leave his Fezza for dead on acceleration, but no way could I keep up on the windy bits, because he was simply a better (braver) driver.

I read this the other day and was a little dissapointed with the final comment in the article being 'the styling went from bad to worse' and also saying that people didnt really care what they looked like! Bit harsh i thought!
Agreed , can't see a problem with the styling , the bloke on ' the tvr story ' says the same thing about his wedge , so why the feck did he buy one I ask!Forums | Wedges | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
