Did they ever make one, or did they only make the 350 FHC.

I'm not sure if it was a factory model or a conversion, but I remember seeing a FHC with a 3.9 and S1 ridged bumpers, in pale yellow - this would have been mid-90's.

Looked very unusual.

I've seen one 390 FHC and it was at the big TVR event at Brands Hatch (Golden Mania). It had 350SE Wheels and was in a pale yellow colour. The colour was not particularly nice. It was a one off apparently for a female customer. It was for sale at the time and I've never seen it since.

If I remember correctly, the factory produced only one 390 SE FHC in 1989 and it was done in Primrose Yellow. I believe indications were it was built for a particular customer.

Thanks for the info,
I knew someone here would know.

Reason I wanted to know is because CSCC race series has widened its eligibility, and was wondering if I could get away with running my 3.9(4.0) RV8 FHC racer.
There main criteria is same engine Gearbox and Induction. as a model made. I know currently the Tuscan Rv8 are allowed but only with carb's, there are a few who have converted to injection, and saying there was a road version made with injection, so are trying to get them allowed.

Leigh, if you only need one single car to homologate, why not go for the nutty 6+litre wedge that was shipped out to scandinavia?

Leigh,
You would be able to run with an injected V8 Rover of any capacity as long as the induction type remained (you could go throttle body but not change to carbs).

Class would change with capacity as per the very open regs.

Only problem with that it's not a FHC.

As far as I am aware Marshall is quite correct.
The yellow car, if factory prepared and not an aftermarket installation, is the only 390FHC that I`ve ever come across.
Officially the factory only ever produced FHC with 350i units, unless anyone knows better, of course.
