Hi Guys, have a look at this...
My old school buddy was over from the 'States recently, and we wandered over to the British motor heritage museum,in gaydon warwickshire, as he's an MG nut (has his own business putting 5ltr Ford engines into MGB's).
The BMHM has a collection of really rare one off prototype MG's including salt flat speed-record attempt cars and the like (and the original prototype Metro6R4 with the 6 cylinder rover V8!)
We stumbled upon this one off prototype which was obviously a predeccessor to the MG RV8.
Recognise the donor??

Whilst i was about to read the card, My mate said...Hey! have a look at the interior....

Now I think you know!

As far as i can tell, it was a 350i donor, but i couldn't see under the hood...sorry ,bonnet!
The front calipers had been removed for some reason, but otherwise it was a driveble car...

interesting eh?

Pity they didn't go with it...with PW's permission of course.

Looks a lot nicer than the cobbled-up and vastly over-rated/valued (IMO) MG RV8.

Does look American though, with that big fat bum. hehe

Agreed, but i have to say in the flesh the rear was the best bit, maybe it's the photo angle that makes it look like that. The only bit that didn't work for me was the Ford Scorpio( i think?) front lights, but otherwise it was a good looking car.
Even the exhaust was standard TVR right up until the rear crossover pipe, where the centre exit was hastily welded on!!

Plenty of big manufacturers take an existing car and put components in like their own engine to test lots of miles on it with out people noticing it..

Like the Ultima running around with a McLaren BWM 6.0 V12..

True.

The original Mini prototype was road-tested using Austin A35 front bodywork. smile
