Switch Gear version

Hi Leigh
My 280i had the TR7/Stag type with the wipers on the left hand side and no intermittent wipe...My S2 350i has similar but opposite ...i:e the wiper on the R/H/S and intermittent wipe....I had a very nice custom made alloy switchgear on Delilah that Ian made...Shame the 350i wasn't the same as they would of been swapped over...I might have an old 350i pair that you could have to copy...Ill have a look tomorrow...
Cheers

Look nice,
Any tips for bending the aluminum bars without getting stress marks.
Can't remember for certain, the TR7-style need a lot more bend owing to the deep-dish steering wheel. I do have an Automec brake pipe bender which clamps the pipe between two curved nylon blocks so maybe I used that. Another way would be to drill a hole in a bit of thick plywood, poke the bar through and use the ply as a lever... the ply should deform before any dents appear in the alloy. The ones I made were all at final polish stage when I bent them so there was little scope for removing any damage afterwards - and if you get the bend in the wrong place there's no going back!Any tips for bending the aluminum bars without getting stress marks.
