can someone tell me what the water pump is off.....where to get one, ballpark price and perhaps a part number.

Standard Rover V8 water pump. TVR Parts sell an uprated one at just over £90 with a 2 year warranty which seems good value, see below. You can get a normal one for around £60, there's a few on the flea. ML Performance also sell them but at £160 plus the VAT. Rimmers also stock them at £120 plus VAT.
