Thought id share this
A short while back
I Pushed my car out of the garage to tinker , clean leather etc, admire and polish .

My mate pulled up with his 2 x lads 11 and 14 in his truuck we started chatting about bikes etc. He has a ducati pani.

My other mate turned up in his new gallardo , the boys asked if they could sut in the lambo etc who which jason said great.
Photos were taken etc. Anyway jason the lambo guy had to leave and said goodbye etc .
It sounded very nice.
When he went i started my car to warm it up and drive round block to give it a drive as it hasnt been started for a while as it was ticking over the 2 x lads said
That sounds better that the lambo , i felt very proud
Any way i just thought id share this.

Our RV8 engines sound great even today. I've thought that next to many "Superior" cars. It's not all about being the loudest, it's about having the right mix of loudness and depth of growl, or that beautiful low speed burble. I've though my car sounds nicer even next to the 5.0 V8 Mustang (The ne UK spec one).

There is nothing better than the sound of a full fat wedge :-)

We have a few Aston's around here and I think they sound a bit growly too, but at least an octave up from the Wedge.

So the Wedge wins!

The 4 litre Rover/TVR engines seem to be large enough to produce a good bass rumble, but small enough so it will rev high enough to howl. A lot of the standard big US or Merc engines sound good, but have to change up just at the point they really start to sing, unlike the Rover in the wedge, so there is a 'Oh is that it?' effect.

The Lexus 4ish litre 1uz & 3uz can sound really good too.

And the LS7
Fair enough, a quick youtube later and I'll agree, above 6000rpm under load they can sound very nice. I guess you just don't hear it too often because they have so much power you don't need to. The RV8 is rather weedy in comparison so you get to hear it more often smile

The C63 and Coyote in the Mustang don't sound bad they just don't seem to come alive sonically the way others do.

Personal preference though.
