Bulkhead Steering Column Bush again

Can someone correct me here.
I seem to remember reading in several past threads that there's not only a stock size replacement but someone found an even heavier duty and I believe physically larger bush fitting.
So, is there one or two different ones out there?

Phil, that's exactly the same type as I've used (and supplied to a couple of others on here) though I went for a slightly smaller bore than that, 17mm IIRC, and made a brass bush to match the bore to the column.Any of them have to be an improvement over that daft rubbery thing that TVR fitted as standard. Obviously the column is not constantly rotating as, say, a machinery shaft would be, and the rack is fixed to the chassis, so the loads the bearing sees are fairly constant - it's more to do with keeping the weather out.

I also used the heavy duty bearing. But I had to contend with the Ford Granada column which is triangular in section. I had followed the Wedge Pages but that had a circular column.
I just bought a Granada bush with the triangular internal shape and fitted that into the bearing housing. The column was a tight fit into the Granada bush though and needed a little fettling. I intend to do a brass one sometime as well but the std one will do for the moment. However, I did find that it was essential to fit the Granada bush from the outside of the bulhead and slide the corresponding retaining clip (which can also be bought from Fbay) on to hold it in place. This stops it from drifting out of the housing (which happened once when I fitted it from the other side without a retaining clip!).
I also bought a extra bearing housing plate so that I could sandwich the fibreglass bulkhead. I decided that when you create the large hole to take the new bearing it left the bolt holes with insufficient material between them and the large hole for long term durability.
As with the other guys though, the steering is much improved over what it was.
