Ford StreetKa Air Box extra thing

Hey all, Anyone know what this little box does? its located on top of the Air box but its empty inside and there is no way of opening it.

Not sure what it is, what it does or why its there, I'm not mechanically knowledgeable so any info would be greatly appreciated

It does nothing. Take it off & it will sound better,
