Fiesta zetec s wheel buckling

My son has a 60 reg fiesta zetec s . He recently found it was not driving smoothly and on inspection found that three of the wheels have buckled. Has anyone had this problem?. I have seen other media that reports on this .

Is it on 16 or 17 inch rims? There just isn't enough rubber to protect the wheel from potholes. I had 17's on my Suzuki Swift Sport and that had 3 buckled rims on it's last MOT. On my new Zetec S, I've kept the standard 16's hopefully reducing the problem.

Yes! I've got a 2012 Zetec S on the standard 16s and I had a wheel buckle. Didn't want it to happen again so I've put OZ Superturismo 17s on it for summer and I've put winter rubber on the standard Ford units.
