got a mk2 rs 2000 seems to have a contaminated petrol tank , wot can i clean it out with ?
the car runs with the petrol pipe in a petrol can but not stright from the tank

Hmmm.........doesn't sound like it's contaminated, more like it's totally blocked. Take the pipe off the bottom & see if there's any fuel coming out, if there is, then you'll have to check the rest of the fuel line for blockages.

is the manual fuel pump operating?

is there a blockage in the jets?

whats the fuel filter condition?

has some little sh*t put sugar in your tank?

Sounds like the tank is blocked up with sludge and cp you may need to take the tank out and get a garage to flush it out. You could try the old Ford spares dealers but not sure your chances of finding a replacement.

ps I always liked the RS2000 especially the droop snoot
