I bought my Chim 500 new in March 2002, today the clock finally reached 100K. I have to say that I’ve enjoyed nearly every one of them. Over that period I’ve had one breakdown requiring a pickup and a start from the AA so I could drive to the garage to get a new battery.

And they say our cars are unreliable .

Funnily enough my 2004 Tuscan was first registered today.

It's got 115,720 miles on the clock.
2 flatbed recoveries, first was a blown clutch master cylinder seal in the middle of Southampton, second was a total MBE ECU failure on my drive.

To update it looks like the car requires its first really expensive repair. Outriggers need replacing at £2200 + VAT. frown

Are you on original Eibach/Billy springs and dampers ???
I ask because I'm just about to replace my 2001 Chims with Nitrons .

Sorry, I have no idea what they are. They’re the originals as supplied by TVR.

The Eibach spring and Bilstein spring 'set-up' available from Blackdown Automotive is the combo' that a lot of folks are raving about.
I've had this combo put on my Tuscan and very happy with the handling.
The chap behind Blackdown is the person that did the research on the Sagaris and Tuscan 3 under Nickolai,

I wouldn’t be surprised if the final price was more.

It will be a case of “whilst it’s here, why not get your suspension arms renewed? What about rebushing? Etc”.

Late Chims and all Mk3 Chims and Tuscan Mk2 were factory fitted with Eibach and Bilstein . Ben was involved with my convertible setup , but I think the Nitrons are far superior on my Tuscan . They are a "proper" piece of engineering and a price to match smile .I'm told the Ohlin 3 stage option is even better at an even greater cost smile .
I've gone with the Comfort Option
