Brake Servo Supplier

Looking to purchase a Chimaera brake servo and not wanting to pay £300+, now realising its impossible to find off the shelf MK3 Fiesta units.

I have read a thread about a Chinese manufacturer supplying a UK indy in the past which makes me think any unit purchased via TVR circles from the UK will be China sourced.

Found this on Aliexpress which matches the OE 1666345 and TRW PSA328 part numbers.

Worth a punt?

Yes I also saw that one but has much longer estimated lead time. Ultimately if there is going to be a supply of these at normal costs, there is going to have to be a bulk order from China anyway. The ones motoclan are selling for £320 look identical, although most servos look identical!

Question is, should I buy one....

The issue for me (if it fails) would be the time taken removing and refitting, it's an absolute pig of a job.

Of course, that's not to say those supplied by Motaclan & Racetech aren't from China either....I replaced mine with a Racetech unit and it's be fine.

edit: Just to add to that, given the flooding of the market with cheap components from that side of the world (see Lucas) and that's safety related I wouldn't take the chance for the sake of £150. Just my 2p

That's the $1,000,000 question, do they all come from the same supplier whether you pay £150or £300?

Indeed. I've always found Racetech to be transparent, so worth asking the question.

Or order two for the same cost from China, but trust me, you won't want to tackle the job twice
