I'm relocating from near Stirling to the North East and wondered what North East car club region was like, how often they meet, who to look out for etc.

Why not try the tvrcc website?

Anyway try www.tvrcc.com/regions.htm
Links to
http://tvrcc.ne.users.btopenworld.com/homepage.htm

Not sure what they're like, I'm down south, but I assume they're all two headed with devil worship on the moors when there is a full moon.

Is that what you wanted to hear?

Hi Neil,

The contact details for our North Eastern RO (Don Price) are in the back of Sprint magazine.

Failing that we meet on the second Sunday of each month at the Premier Lodge (Millers Bar and Restaurant) Woolsington. This is virtually next door to Newcastle Airport, has a large car park and is easy to get to.

Next meeting is this Sunday at about 12.15pm. It usually goes on until about 2-ish with 20 or more members/cars turning up.

There is also a night time meet once a month in Newcastle, which is for the purpose of relaxing with a bit of alcohol! Seeing as most are on Diet Coke on the sundays..........

So if you have time pop along on Sunday and say hello.

Ross.

Where abouts in the North East? I live near Redcar and have, as yet, failed to get around to the trek to Newcastle. A little too far for an evening gathering. I tend to join in with the West Yorks group events.

The weather forecast is looking a bit iffy but I will be taking the wee beastie along anyway, no doubt some of the 'softees' (you know who you are!) will come in their normal transport if it is too wet though!

I guess it has to get wet at some stage and I still need to do another 500 miles to see it to the first service!! :

See you Sunday then!

The North East TVRCC meeting is in Woolsington on Sunday, not Wolsingham. Just our regular monthly meet.

Now then Neil, what's all this about you defecting from bonny Scotland? You missing Marcus or something? Let me know where you end up!

TVRBOB: if you fancy a pint and a TVR-type yak sometime then give me a bell: I'm about 15 miles from you near Billingham!

I'd be interested in meeting up as well. I live in Ingleby Barwick and am just about to order a T350C (see Tamora/T350 forum "I need encouragement!"). Why not a Teesside group?

Ello Ian! How you doing? Aye, what with Marcus gone there's no souls up here worth hanging on for (no TVR dealer now either). Moving to Killingworth, so just a hop and a skip of the A19.

I think there was one years back, but it died out due to lack of interest. In the 80's there were quite a few Tasmins on Teesside due to ICI allowing a 10-grand limit for certain management. They didn't have any daft rules about the type of car, so all the young bloods bought TVRs.
Now ICI has gone, of course, and you can see the other side of the valley as a result .

There are quite a few TVRs in the area now, ranging from a few tidy (and a couple of rough) 1970's cars, through a handful of Wedges to a selection of the newer models - though a T350 would be the daddy, I suppose! - my local dentist has a Cerbera, there are 2 Wedges and a Taimar in Norton, a Cerbera at Wynyard, a 3000M in Acklam and I keep seeing several Chimaeras and Griffiths, though they don't all seem to recognise my Wedge as a TVR.
Thing is, not everyone is a 'club man'; some people just drive cars. So you won't necessarily find everyone's that enthusiastic. Worth a try, though?

Ah, Killingworth: the unsung birthplace of the world's railway systems... though not a lot of people know that.
Everyone says Stockton and Darlington, but what do they know?
Aye, you'll be just up t'road, lad. Many's the time I... :snore:

Seems like there's a few Tiv's appearing in Teesside, I'm in Middlesbrough so would definately be up for a Teesside meet. I'm currently pootling round in a 1998 Cerb 4.5. Have seen a green wedge, pink tuscan and another turquoise cerb in the area - but nothing else!

No-one going to the Croft trackday on Friday 21st March? Factory T440R is apparently going to be there so will be going up to take a few pics and blag a test drive .

Dan

P.S. Clive&June - let me know when you get your T350, I work just down the road from you in Stainton.

Pinkney: sorry, I forgot about you! I thought I'd spoken to a few other folk in the area...
Anyway, that green Wedge: if it's the one I'm thinking of, it's a metallic green Tasmin fixed-head; lives in Billingham. I used to see it quite a bit but haven't for a while. Though it may be another one, which is no bad thing...
