What do you all think to the current TVR Product Portfolio? what is the biggest gap in the market, is it the 2+2 with only the Cerbera or perhaps TVR should look at making a replacement? I would appreciate your views as im doing my University dissertation on this!!
Thanks in advance.

IMHO the gap is at the bottom end of the market. In the days of the Griff / Chim, it was a real performance bargain... where as the current range starts a bit higher up.

my colleague did his dissertation on TVR, may still have it on file, I'll ask him.

for my money don't think they have any gaps although they were talking about doing a 2+2 convertible about 4 years ago and I'm sure they had a mock up at motorshow, was like a stretched Chimaera/roofless Cerbie. If they could make it stiff and elegant enough that might be good.

Maybe a 7 seat off roader for the school run would be a good idea?
Either that or a car that can go underwater when being chased by Mr Blofeld!

IMHO, a rather good TVR range for the future should look like this :

Tamora 2.5 V6 (non TVR engine) - sub 30k

T350C + T350 Spider (= Tamora with T350 front and rear end) with 3.6 sp6 and 4.2 sp6 (R version) engines.

Tuscan 3.6 sp6 and 4.2 sp6 (S version) engines.

Cerbera replacement 3.6 sp6, 4.2 sp6 and 4.5 AJP engines

T440R as race homologation special.

Wishful thinking I'm afraid...

iirc, Peter Wheeler has gone on record as sayng he'd rather make fewer cars at a higher margin than more cars at a lower margin. On that basis, equating margin with purchase price, the lack of an "entry-level" model is not so much a gap, but more of a strategic omission.

i have always thought the tvr range almost overlap each other if you get my meaning
isn't the tamora and standard tuscan abit close in price/power and don't they share the same platform, which in itself is a revamped version of the cerbie. Or are they significantly different to drive
I m not entirely sure of those facts but i'm sure i read that somewhere.

IMHO The current model-range is absolutely spot-on.
In other words it's a real dilemma what to choose as your new spec. The Tamora at entry-level is £ for £ a better buy than the last Griffs - better performance and handling with much better build-quality. The Tuscans are awesome beasts and the look of the T350 is spot-on - that's why they have orders for so many! The Cerbera is now looking a bit dated, but this is where the T440 comes in!
Unfortunate fact of life - TVR are going places and remember, which other manufacturer allows you to spec your car in ANY colour? Look around, what are the real alternatives?
P.S. my 4th TVR is about to arrive - no complaints!
