Hi all,
just to let you know - I've just changed the battery in the Chimaera (450) and what a difference. I put in a 'Calcium' content battery from Halfords (code HCB096 I think) that has a cold crack current max. of 700 amps! (better than the 590-650A of the 072 types) I've had the car since August 2002 and it has never started so good. I thought the starter was going to rev itself apart. Engine now starts in after around 2or3 compressions rather than 2 or 3 complete revs.
So the old batt has probably been on the way out for a while. Cost was 78 GBP but with a 4-year warranty. Worth it as it's such a b##ch to get in/out.
Hope this helps those struggling with chargers etc like I have for the last 3 months. I'll keep you posted on its performance.
