Mid-Essex jolly to Kent meet (28th April)

To the Mid-Essex clan...Lady topaz has very kindly invited us all to the Kent Dunton Green meet Monday the 28th April.

As the Kent posse were kind enough to visit us back in March it would be dam rude if we refused their invite Clearly its not the best of nights to meet..ie a week day and being a city boy don't I know it...but hey we should make the effort!

So please let me know if you would like to pop along and I'll send you the directions. Myself and Tony...who apparently may have a 'exhaust conversion' ..wayhey...will be going along in convoy from Southend.

Alan, As i work in Opington i'll pay a visit this lunch time to the Rose & Crown, the Kent watering hole. We just need to arrange a time and place to meet Monday, i would suggest either the Thurrock services (Essex side) or the Dartford Hilton (Kent side).
Also you dont need passports or any jab's, although they are a funny lot on this side of the river...

Hey!! I've just returned to Kent from commuting thru D'tford tunnel to Essex for 2 years. Do you want me to get my white stilletos out and dance round my handbag on Monday to make you feel at home?

no no please don't, i work in St Mary Cray and there are enough stilettos around here already.....

Pub looks ok and only ten minutes from where i work, i'll go and meet whoever's coming and guide them through this strange land they call Kent

Seen as I'm on the border of Essex and not been to any events yet, I thought I'd pop along too, (2 weeks Cerbera owner and loving every minute of it).

Is anyone passing by the M11 or anywhere near N.E London to get there as I'd like to tag along.

The directions 'Lady' has sent me are;

Directions to Dunton Green from Essex
Heading down from Essex over the Dartford Crossing on the M25, head to to junction 4 (for Bromley / Orpington) and take the turn to the right. Note that the exit veers sharply left here, so beware! At the next roundabout take the left exit onto the A21 towards Badgers Mount and Dunton Green. Follow the A21 until a roundabout indicates a left turn towards Dunton Green (A224), this will take you over the M25. From here follow the A224 toward Dunton Green, the Rose & Crown will be on the left-hand side of the road after around a mile. Please note that the road layout hides the Rose & Crown until you are on-top of it...

We'll be at Thurrock Services at 6.30 (boss willing).
As long as yellow peril leaves work by 6.05 they'll have plenty of time to get to Thurrock on time!!!! - we remember an early morning rendezvous at the Army and Navy!

Hi all. Will try and be at Thurrock Services for around 6:30ish. Shouldn't be a problem, as I only live 20 minutes away.... Lady Topaz - does the pub just serve hot food, or can I buy cold food (sandwiches etc) as well? If anyone is travelling via the A13 to the services - look out for me in the red wedge and give me a wave
