There seems to be another Tuscan R/T400R/T440R (what ever TVR fancy calling it this month!) road car on daily sports car today.

Is this a new one or is it the Red one repainted?

Also, There are 3 British Gt race cars and 2 Le Mans race cars, right?
So, what the hell is this car? Is it a "plastic" one. No bonnet vent, blackwindows, no lights.

It's a body shape model. No insides just looks the same. The original speed12 was the same thing.

According to DSC TVR have made loads of T400Rs because of the weight penalties associated with very low volume sports car production.

Does anybody Know how any road cars have been built to date???

Hey Top Fuel, how did you find this picture? I checked davidlord.co.uk but couldn't find it.

Do you have any more?

PS. Black doesn't look too bad does it?

DSC implied that 17 road cars had been built, enough to run 1.7 cars at Le Mans without the weight penalty. So running two cars meant 30Kg of ballast. Another strange French rule (just don't ask about Air France right now!).

Interestingly also from dailysportscar.com -

"TVR didn’t have a chance to see how quick ‘as good as it gets’ might be, but with production due to pass 20 before the race, the T400Rs should appear in France next month running with less ballast and more power. As things stood at the weekend, TVR’s sixes were throttled just like Audi’s 3.6 V8s."

anyone like to claim ownership of one of the first "20" cars?

It looks good in black. Wish they made 19" or 20" versions of those spider wheels instead of those 5 spoke ones...

Tuscan S, why don't you consider some of the rims that the T440R(dark coloured one with the shiny chrome bling bling wheels)motorshow car had on it? I think they were 5 spoke and IMHO look much better the standard spider rims, though obviously not in bling bling chrome I think they were 20". There has been links posted on here somewhere to the website of the manufacturer.

I hope TVR don't use the same seats and wheels as the standard Tuscan and Cerbera on the Tuscan R's.

Cheers

Anyone know why the differnet coloured lenses on the front lights? yellow in one clear in the other. orange indicators on one clear on the other..... just a factory glitch or for a purpose? answers on a postcard.

The white ones may be these of the road car, the yellow ones being used on the LM cars.

The French front lights are in that yellow. Maybe they thought this would please the ACO. How many T440Rs are built then ?

Different lights?

Possibly just to indicate which car is which on the track.
For me they look very similar, I couldn´t tell apart without.

You'll have to click on 'Wheel Range' then 'TVR Design' available in sizes from 15" to 23"
