It started on Saturday, convey to Kirkistown to see Historic racing, Cerbie breaks down and in my rush to help, I lock my keys in the Chimaera boot. We get the Cerbie running again long before we get the boot open.

Monday Kirkistown Track Day, great day all running like clock work. Chim is running really well, pulling 105 mph through Debtor's Dip. What a rush Then my right knee starts playing me up. Can't brake due to the pain, bugger day cut short

Tuesday knee still not right, had to be driven home from work.

Wednesday and this is the really bad bit, Doctor banned me from driving till my knee is better, should be a week may be 2. Not to bad, no track time till July me say's, oh no say's doctor, no track time till August !!!!! You must let the knee recover fully no exercise for 4 weeks, not that I go to the gym anyway. Doctor then kills me take these drugs and no drinking for 6 weeks

What am I going to do, the best thing's in life are TVR driving & social drinking with the TVR mates after a great drive.

Any tips on what to do while I recover ?

Colin L

PS: No DIY tips, the wife has enough lined up already, with a bad knee they are not being done this summer! Hee Hee!

Colin
sorry to hear about your misfortunes. You were indeed limping a bit at the end of the day...and a great day it was too. Thanks for the organisation and the great hospitality.

Would it help if you had a car with lighter controls?
Perhaps I could arrange one

Get yourself a scaletrix, like I did.
You can get yourself a pair of speed twelves, so you can still have your track days, but it won't f*!?* your knee so much - may get wrist action pain though!!

As far as the beer is concerned what difference does that make to your knees? It's at the other end of your body!! Change your doc if I were you, sounds like he drives a focus!

How about drunken gymnastics leading to an Elise driving friend of mine braking his sjoulder blade and 2 ribs !!!!!

He has been told to lay off the driving for 2 months ! He's utterly gutted and determined to prove them wrong .... excepting the fact he is in agony most of the time !!

Well, not too many suggestions from me other than reading PH, although you do that anyway :-) and I think you already have at least the one Speed Twelve.

Needless to say you live in the right part of the world IF you do need knee surgery (wonder why that is?) and all that type of yucky stuff in the future.

As for the beer issue I think a few bottles of Kaliber will at least give you the taste, if not the buzz. I always think Kaliber should be a very strong beer rather than a low alcohol one and that the "b" should be a "p". So the advertising campaign should run a little like this:

"Kaliper , so strong not even leg calipers will keep you upright" :-)

If anyone can, it'll be this bloke;

www.john-c-williamson.co.uk/

(Sympathy for the knee. I've torn a ligament in my shoulder, so even if the Chim wasn't on axles stands in the garage, I still couldn't drive it. Grrrr.)

Sorry to hear about that Colin. How about: follow the advice about no exercise, but ignore the advice about drinking
Works for me anyway....

Sorry to hear about your problems, RO, especially after such a great track day - well organised. Joan told me on Sunday that you were very good at the housework. Pity it caused 'House Maid's Knee' though. Still think of it this way with lame horses they shoot them unless they're good for the stud. Then again from what Joan told me they would definitely shoot you.

Alan

PS Just be hopeful that Smirnoff didn't pick up on the earlier suggestion. You wouldn't want the runs as well.
