RAC v's AA

Thought it was high time i arranged some cover...

Did i read somewhere that one of these two have low slungs flatbed recovery lorries, perfectly suited for TVR's?

I've never used the AA yet but ...

The RAC do provide these; but they don't believe you when you tell them one is needed. Someone turns up in a van or a regular truck scratches there head and then calls for the right truck which means ages stuck on the side of the road.

I don't know if european cover is important to you but I've broken down in a number of countries now and the RAC seem pretty good giving out a courtesy car and transferring the car some distance to my preferred TVR dealer. However never breakdown in italy. In other countries they have a deal with a recovery firm for that country and the italian outfit are utter shite.

Yes you're right, I remember this. Do a search, it was in the last six months. The thread was about which generally gave better service and covered AA's parts and labour offer.

With the AA and have had to call for flatbed a couple of times - No problems and pretty punctual.

Even pre-booked one uplift for two days ahead which was great.

Well I'm with the RAC as main recovery service and have the TVR AA cover for my new Tuscan. I've had to arrange the AA to pick up my car tomorrow as I have a flat tyre and take over to a performance garage to get it fixed.

The AA TVR cover had a separate number to call then the normal AA emergency number...but I guess thats part of the service they provide for new cars but worth enquiring. They fully understood what we required to trailer away a Tuscan so all good so far...

If it falls off the trailer tomorrow PH will be the first to hear about it..oh + my lawyer

I'm with the AA and the beauty of that is that for an extra forty quid they put a warranty on your car so that if it breaks down and they cannot fix it they will pay up to 500 bucks for an approved repair!

The AA trailered my car today 40miles to get my new tyre, they used a low loader and was an excellent service.

Various people were pointing as we were going along...no doubt slagging off the TVR reliability...little did they know

TVR use the AA as the recovery service that you get free when you buy a new one...

They are also the only recovery company to have their own flatbeds.
