Festival Of Speed 2003 – Dates, Theme and Outline Timetable (updated 30.4.03)

The Festival Of Speed will take place in 2003 on July 11.12.13.

The theme for the event is to be 'Festival of Speed - The First Decade', celebrating the tenth anniversary since the Festival was launched in 1993. The entry list will incorporate some of the event's 'greatest hits' from the first ten years, focusing on the archetypal vehicles that made the event a success.

Friday is a relaxing day for the enthusiast. Free practice begins at 10.00hrs with all the competing vehicles on the track once. You will also see the dunhill Soapbox Challenge practice session, and the Supercar Run. The Bonhams Sale takes place in the afternoon, with entry by catalogue only. The ever-popular Red Arrows aerobatic display team will return to the Festival once again. However, due to other commitments, they will only display on Friday.

Saturday is official practice day with two runs during the day for the competing vehicles. You can also see the first timed runs in the dunhill Soapbox Challenge, the Supercar Run, the preview day of the Cartier ‘Style et Luxe’ and air displays.

Sunday sees action against the clock as competitors battle for class and outright awards, with two runs for each competing vehicle. You can also see the conclusion of the dunhill Soapbox Challenge and judging of the Cartier ‘Style et Luxe’ automobile design competition, plus the Supercar Run and air displays. Prize giving takes place at approximately 18:30hrs.

I surprised the break away tendancy are going to this event

It's bit old school tie and the sort of event the old fashioned TVRCC would go to!

Maybe you should move this thread to the Events & Meetings/General Gassing forum - or do you want it to be TVRs only?!

TVRgaas , just checked your profile and I see that you are Hants R.O. so just for your information before you get on your high horse I have just been offered R.O for Cornwall and Plymouth region which I turned down because I would rather be an enthusiast than just another person that sits in a pub yapping about TVR instead of doing something pro-active so if you really want to raise an issue I suggest you move it to another thread, this one is for Goodwood.

Just like to point out

a) I dont have a tvr
b) my tent will be 5 miles away in Yapton

We could organise a informal meeting inside the event maybe? A bar springs to mind
