Insuring 2 Cars
Discussion
Do any members have experience of insuring 2 cars ? I have a Honda Civic Type R and an impending TVR chim. How do I go about having a policy that includes them both ? If not will I get no claims on just one and not the other ? I've heard of people having multiple cars on the same policy bit like the old "Rider" policies for bikers years ago. Any insurance company recommendations for this kind of thing ? else the Honda is living on borrowed time

Usually you need a separate no claims bonus for both cars. I did this for 10 years with Norwich Union - they have multi-car discounts which can make it quite a lot cheaper than two separate policies. Especially if you make the more expensive car the second car on the policy, because that attracts a discount on top of the discounts for NCB, alarm, garage etc.
A Classic policy seems to offer the best deal for me, on a restricted mileage basis. Many Classic policies do not have an NCB as such, or will mirror your bonus. I have just gone to Classic Line who did this (tel: 01455 639000) but I know of Heritage and Aon who also do classic policies. Neither of these use NCB's to calculate premiums.
