Driveshaft grease????

Am just about to put back the propshaft and driveshafts and was wondering what grease to use?? when I took them off the ends were packed in grease and I guess I ought to do the same when putting them back!!!

Also just out of interest does the diff have to be exactly at the right angle??, when I say exactly I mean will a degree out make any difference???. I could not get the top diff bush to fit in perfectly!!!, About 2 mm would not go in for love or money!!!!, snapped two high tensile steel bolts trying to pull it in!!!! the bush still shows either side of the mount and have got the diff to go back in just the top bit is a tiny bit off center!!!. I think the front mounts have pulled it straight though!!!!. Oh well!!!

Your local car parts shop should sell a pot of constant velocity grease for about 10 quid. Don't overpack the ends though.

The trick with the diff bush is to freeze the bush overnight and heat the bush mounting prior to fitment, falls in then.

As for alignment,if you've got the front mounting plates on without a problem then the prop shaft cv joints will take up the slight missalignment no problem.

Well done on a very difficult job.I did e-mail some photos to you but they were returned, possibly too large.
