I needed to replace my front shocks and soon discovered that I couldnt easily buy a suitable spring compressor(s) to get the springs off the shocks.

So a bit of lateral thinkibg and diligent use of an angle grinder and there you go coilover spring conpressor sorted for £8.99

Mine look almost identical to that. I think they came from Halfrauds / Draper for not a lot more than your 8.99. It was about 20 years ago so no idea whether they still do them.

I used motorcycle spring compressors.

I found a link on here showing how to do it using heavy duty ratchet straps because I couldn't get the tips of those type to work.

The only problem is that they scratch your paintwork on springs ( more often than not) - especially when you have just had springs recoated ! I went to a local motorcycle shop to get mine fitted, scratch free.
