I got a Snooper a few days ago and it certainly gives out the appropriate signals. I went round an area where I know where the Gatsos are and thought that it gave a very adequate warning when you're on the open road, but it can't see round corners! One camera was located round a long, sweeping bend and it didn't spot it until too late (but I was behaving myself). I think it will prove to be a useful aid but won't protect you from everything.
According to the brochure it will warn you of several other speedtrap dangers apart from cameras.

I thought the Snooper was a GPS based device (perhaps not). I have a Road Angel (which is GPS based) so there is no such thing as corners - it knows where all fixed and semi-fixed (e.g. mobile at roadworks) cameras are and warns me within plenty of time, regardless of what's in the way between me and the camera.

The laser detector add on for the Road Angel is pants though (lots of false alarms), but they are apparently working on a new version.

I have used a snooper for over a year now, with no problems. I have not come across any laser devices since having it, though the snooper can pick up laser from over a mile away. Gatsos will be picked up within about 75meters, the signals they emit are low powered hence the short distance, but it is enough to scrub off speed and you usually see the camera first. I bought this one mainly to arm myself against mobile units, that pop up every so often. I do tend to find that I drive more slowly and with more awareness now, especially around town. This is due to it picking up "false signal", from such sources as traffic lights and automatic door sensors. The false signals can be annoying, but you can filter them out with the "city" setting on mine.

Overall a good purchase, (bought from Halfords), but I have seen them cheaper on the web.

Anybody got a Rocky Mountain DLS 310 Laser,Radar detector and laser jammer,seen it on the net for £320.It says its 100% legal to use.
I'm going to buy one but i don't know what type

I have an Origin Bluei to pick up fixed position gatso's and tuvelos plus a snooper jammer to block any handheld or mobile units. Seems to work well in combination.

Most snoopers are radar detectors but the do make a GPS unit as well now.
