Harrison & Co bodyshop in Farnham

Let me first give you a bit of background to this post. I am going though an insuramce claim at present and my insurer has recomended Harrison & Co. (Farnham) to me to perform paint repairs to the front of my car.

Now I know that you are not allowed to name and shame on these message boards (and for good reason). So if anybody has any feedback (good or bad) can you please mail me though my profile.

What I would like to know is has anyone used this company in the past and what were your impressions of there work and service.

As I said, I am not trying to dig up dirt on this company (if there is any??), but I would like to know a little about them as I do not know of anyone who has used them in the past.

I think Nick Harrison was part of the then TVR dealer SHG, and used to drive a Tuscan for one or two seasons.
SHG and Hawthorns formed a link, which has since been disolved. Harrisons are behind Hawthorns.
I haven't used them, but I think some others have, do a search on the forums.

Harrison have done the following work for me:

1. Repaired and resprayed the front end of my Griff after the SHG mechanic hit a deer in it on a post service test drive,

2. Sorted the sub-standard factory paintwork on most of the panels on my first Tuscan,

3. Repaired and resprayed the sill on my first Tuscan after a 'trackday incident',

4. Fitted a new wing, repaired the door and respray on my second Tuscan (a Chameleon colour) after a certain TVR salesman hit a lamp post on a test drive

All the above was carried out to a very high standard (in the case of my Tuscans, to a significantly better standard than the original factory paint job).

AFAIK they do all the bodywork for Hawthorns including sorting the paintwork on new cars before delivery.

I think your insurance company are spot on in suggesting them.

I think Nick Harrison actually owner SHG........My first experience in a Griffith was in 1993 when Nick took me for a test drive in their demo, a very exciting/scary experience but I do remember thinking he was a very capable driver.

Thank for the response... but please remind me never to park my car anywhere near yours, especially when TVR mechanics and dealers are in the area

I've had the front of a couple of cars sprayed to remove the inevitable stone chips, and the work was first class. At one time, they were the only bodyshop authorised by the factory to do replacement chassis work, too. I don't know if that is still the case.

Someone reversed into my car (it was parked), got his insurance details and insisted it went to a tvr specialist.

So back to Harrisons, who'd only resprayed it 5 months previously.

Very good job, as good or better than new....

It is strnge, but my respryed frontend, does seem to stonechip less than the original paint......?

The only problem may be is they can get quite busy.

It's a number of years ago but they did a really nice job of re-spraying my Griff when someone reversed into the door in a carpark.

IIRC Harrisons are part of the same groups as Hawthorns (the TVR dealer they are behind).

My S3 went to Harrisons after someone pulled out in front of me on a roundabout. They did a great job of respraying the front end (bonnet off, new hinges and frame, repair cracks etc., respray, new trim, bonnet on and align etc.) and were very helpful whenever I dealt with them (Glenn Martin).

I had a couple of false starts re getting the car back, but that was because they weren't happy that it was up to standard to release, so that was for the best really (just seemed like a bit of a bummer at the time!).
