Trying not to gloat.

I'm taking the Gruff down to Bude, Cornwall, on Friday, for a weeks holiday.

Does anyone know any good drives, or even a good drive from the M5 to Bude?

Cheers,

Martin

Personal favourite is here www.multimap.com/map/browse.cgi?X=220000&Y=70000&width=500&height=300&client=public&gride=&gridn=&srec=0&coordsys=gb&addr1=&addr2=&addr3=&pc=&scale=200000&advanced=&multimap.x=226&multimap.y=17

Not strictly on route but if you head down the A30 from Exeter (nice and quick and usually quiet)just as you get to the Jamaica Inn (good for lunch) you could head off for a quick jaunt across Bodmin Moor. The road that follows the River Fowey is excellent, not quick but very scenic with built up Cornish hedges to amplify that lovely V8 sound, you can take a walk down to Golitha Falls then head back across the the top of the moor on the other side of the resevior, high up and nice views. Or drop down to the A38 and pop into Trago Mills (and buy anything from a pair of pants to a new carpet). Dont forget, Barnecutts of Bodmin do the best pasties going and you should ensure that you eat clotted cream until you are sick!

A good run is A38, over the Tamar Bridge then North towards Callington past St Mellion then on from there, hoofing roads!

How about the coast road from Hayle round past Godrevy Lighthouse, Porthtowan and up through St Agnes, Perranporth, through Newquay and up the coast road past Watergate Bay, and up to Padstow.

Martin,
We are heading that way on Monday for five days. Tuscan back from 1K rebuild service so needs a decent run out. Are you in a Hotel?
