Continental meeting 2003

Just wanted to say that the continental meeting was again a succes with nice weather, no damage and very kind people visiting! All who where there, thanks for making it again a great weekend . Now all i got to do is get all the things we used (tents, cones, tables, traffic lights, etc.) back to the storage and after that relax, have a beer and look back on a very good meeting!

How was it to do the track in a real car?
My Griff was excellent, sticked to the tarmac like glue and the new brakes were absolutely fantastic. A shame the engine wasn't up to par yet, but that will be solved soon.

Myself and Fish had a great time, very nice to meet everyone.

Relay race on Friday was excellent

weather was great and we even managed to get back to Stratford by 3pm on Saturday for PF where it was as hot if not hotter than as in Zolder.

Yep, another excellent weekend and many thanks to all the Dutch organizers.

Fortunately my foresight in putting a spare fuel pump in the toolkit meant that I made it through the entire weekend under my own power.

Nice to meet Fish and Mrs Fish, glad to see that you made it to PF in time.

I thought it was a bit unsporting of Adrian to try to trip up Johno's Griffith though, especially since we were all on the same team!

It was great, was used to my '73 Alfa which BTW corners slightly better then the TVR cause of it's upgraded (read very very firm) suspension, but now I had a nice V8 to play with !! It's amazing what you can do with a car like that! Only problem was my brakes which were so hot that the brake fluid began to boil everytime i went into the pitlane cause of the lack of cooling at low speed, which left me with no brake pressure in the pit But besides that, i had a blast with the car and are very very pleased with her! Nice to hear about the good handling of your griff and good luck with solving the engine problem!

I would like also to pass on my thanks to all involved for another brilliant event. Just as an aside, and without wanting to start a major debate, a group of us were discussing the various components of the trackday and came to the conclusion that participants should be limited to one go only at the tests. This would ensure a level playing field and free up more time for free driving for all entrants. Any feedback? Thanks again and best wishes, Tony Abrams.

That'll be me I think! The silver car, Mr Fish did think that I had gone before green though!! I'm sure it was green although I am colour blind! Great fun.

if you went too soon, that would have resulted in a false start which was measured this year for the first time. So you probably won it fair and square.

Any results known? Who won the sprint and hill climb, what were the times?
