Leven hood covers

When I get back from a long drive, late in the eveing and I want to put my cover on - I am always concerned that the engine will be too hot for the flap that effectively rests under the bonet. Any ideas on whether it is OK to put the cover on straight away or if I should be waiting till the morning. It is only a hood cover not a complete car cover.

Would hate to go to the car the following morning to find a melted hood cover on the top part of the engine.......or even a fiberglass melt on the side of the road.

I have also been worried about the same thing and if I have been on a long run and have got the opportunity I like to let it cool a little before putting the cover on. However sometimes I had put the cover straight on when it is still hot and it hasn't affected it so far and shows no signs at all of anything melting.

I guess that although it is hot to the touch it is only the top of the plenum chamber so doesn't reach the same temperatures as the main engine block or the manifolds for example.

But best check with the Leven guys but I believe that they all off on their hols for a few days.

Used a Leven cover on my Griff everyday for over 12 months. Always fitted it as soon as I arrived home, never a problem.
