I went to my local garage today to get my Mazda MOT'd
(for those of you at Pistonfest it was the blue one parked in the arena next to the black ultima on the Saturday
)
Got talking to the guy doing the test (garage deals in sports cars, mainly Alpha Romeo) and he showed me a Tuscan (out the back) that had just had a quick paint job on the front prior to going for sale to cver up stone chips on the peice between the headlamps.
"It didn't need much to blow it in" he said.
"Trouble was we had to buy half a litre and that was £300. Who would want something like that that spends the majority of its life in here getting fixed as well?" he said.
" if it needs a full respray it would be over £5000"
All those with Chameleon paint jobs, beware, a quick blow job to make you feel good about your central part of bodywork aint going to be cheap

Yeah but it a TVR. First hand experience yesterday in a Tamora. I was taking the owner (female) for 8 hours road and track tuition. Did the track and 6 miles from the track in Cambridge, it stopped and refused to go any further. Should have been back in Ealing for around 18.30. Actually got back at 23.50 after having to get recovery and a lift from the garage. IT HAD ONLY BEEN SERVICED LAST WEEK BY THE TVR CENTRE IN BARNET!
Madcop, do you do the tuition for thE Ride Drive courses?
I am about to book the 2 day road and track advanced TVR course..as soon as my car is returned from having engine rebuild work from the dealer you mention!!!!
On a serious note, I have found TVRC to very helpful and extremely good in repairing faults IMHO (not just in case they are reading this
