I have to have this summer time rant. Why do they do it? Every year the council has to resurface the roads. Fair enough you might say. But can they do it properly, the answer is no. What is wrong with scraping the surface off and relaying tarmac? No, no, no, no, no that is too sensible. Instead we have to have the "easy way". Get a tanker full of tar, spread on the road, verges, wild life anything else they manage to cover, come behind with a truck full of chippings and leave the following vehicles bed in the new road surface. As a caution put up one road sign in each direction saying "Slow lose chippings 20 MPH!" Then we have the numpties who think 20 MPH is 60 MPH and cover your gleaming TVR in tar and chippings! End of summer time rant

Exact same thing happened to my road about 2 weeks ago.

Micro tarmacing or some such nonsense.

Thing is it took them a week to put the chippings sign up.

Reckon I can claim a front end respray off the council?
