Hi guys

I have been using Lloyd Specialist Development in Warminster and historically Neil Garner near Kemble over the last few years but I really don't want to keep having to travel for 45 minutes each time and also paying 'TVR tax' is starting to bite a bit. Does anyone know if there is a great mechanic in Chippenham (or very near by) who has a passion for our cars?

Thanks in advance

I think you're going to struggle to beat Neil Garner to be honest.

MGS at the Texaco garage on the A420 are good, used them for my Disco / 330d but had sold the Chim before they took over from the old Rover dealer so not sure if they have any experience on TVRs. Chap who has taken over Circuit Motors at Castle Combe seems to know his stuff too.

Agree, think you'll struggle to beat Neil Garners.
Do you want someone who very occasionally works on TVR's or someone who works on them all the time?

And a 45 minute drive in a TVR, that's just getting a pint of milk isn't it? biggrin

+1
Neil Garner knows his stuff and has an excellent reputation.
You may pay a premium for the top class service they provide, but surely it's worth it for your peace of mind, knowing that any work they do has been carried out properly, safely and efficiently.
You could spend a lot more in the long run by repeated visits to a garage that is unfamiliar with the vagaries of TVRs and takes twice as long trying to sort a recurring fault by replacing perfectly serviceable items.
Just sayin'.

And yes, 45 mins is good.
I have driven 380 miles in the search for a small tub of white pepper because I thought we were running a bit low. It turns out that there was a new pot in the cupboard, hidden behind the jam!
DOH!

45mins to Neil's pah! Takes me 90 minutes. Do you want a village garage or someone who knows stuff?

Thanks for this Miniman-Ive spoken to the chap at Circuit Motors on a couple of occasions. Really nice guy and looking at his cars in storage (nice E30 M3 etc) he knows his stuff. I hadn't thought about using him so will give him a go for the small stuff-I am not mechanically confident to work on my own (or nor should I be left on my own lol)!
