I have not seen any reference to this chap in Rotherham before but he is listed:

Rotherham is not as far north as Clitheroe.
And as far as Magpies is concerned, both are way down south from his neck of the woods.
Aren't Hexham Horseless Carriages included in the new dealer network?

- I'm not a detractor, I love my TVR, however I am pointing out the fact that because there are NO dealers in the northern 1/2 of England/Scotland this maywell put a number of people off from purchasing a TVR.
How many TVR dealers are within 100 miles of you?
I'm relatively lucky as the nearest is 90miles away and the next nearest 140miles.
If someone in Edinburgh or Glasgow wants to have his serviced they are faced with over 250 miles each way.
or near 350 from Aberdeen. How would you cope with those sort of distances.
Don't know of John Ashley Limited but Chris Noyland is a good guy and has as the profile says been around TVR's for years.
Chris often attends TVR outings and is always approachable and available to chat if people want to.

Its quite possible that the'sign up' and 'maintenance' fees have put some ex TVR Dealers off becoming part of the new heritage network.

IMO you will not get better than X-Works or HHC on 'old' tivs up here in the northern wilderness.
Don't think they want to commit funds to an 'unknown' venture just yet though.
Having said that, I do hope the new Tiv is a massive success and wish I could justify the money,

king moaning! How many people take their car to a specialist and travel the mileage. Paint and trim and Blackpool, specialist tuning in chesterfield, honest rolling road in Surrey, power enginineering, str8six to name just a few. We don't even know what special parts are on this or if it needs a specialist dealer. There's plenty of people looking after the Ford engines.The important thing is that this car is brilliant, kick starts the company again and makes money, allowing the company to produce other models later.
They've already said there will be mobile servicing teams from the factory for any issues and no doubt once the car takes off then other dealers will come on board, just like the old days when a lot of dealers covered multiple manufacturers. But no company not dealing with TVR at the moment is going to jump on board with a proposed 500 cars a year. It's still an unknown with no one really seeing the car in the flesh yet.
The constant negative moans just undervalues their efforts. I can understand from non owners, it's fashionable to knock TVR, but from owners? We should be doing everything we can to spread positivity about this.
I really hope it's a tremendous success, the company grows and becomes successful. But expecting a fully functioning company, with multiple dealers at this point, is frankly silly. Once the car is close to being delivered then I'd expect more to come on board.

Who has, in your view, been detracting from TVRs?
All magpies was pointing out was the current dearth of dealers and service agents in the top half of our British Isles.
Any new car needs servicing by authorised service technicians to avoid invalidating the warranty. Is that not so??
I know Mick is as enthusiastic a TVR owner as I am, and I cover as many miles in my TVR as my classic insurance limit will allow ( 9000 ) and I am deeply involved in organising TVR shows, events and runs.
I personally can't wait to see the new LE in the flesh at the Goodwood Revival, and after speaking with Les Edgar on a couple of occasions I know how committed he is to the success of the reborn Marque, and his desire to take TVR back to Le Mans is pretty exciting stuff.
I fully support him and hope the future cars are an unqualified success.
Detractors? Who? Where are they?
