Hi, I've just discovered an internal boot light has been installed on my 1999 Chimaera.

The circuit is live and the bulb is ok, but I can't find how to turn it on!!!!

if the circuit is live it should be on?



unless it's switch on the earth? follow the cable?

Seen one on a Griff, comes on/off with sidelights.

Thanks, tried the sidelights, no joy, interior light, no joy, am wondering about the earth,

When I say it's live im no electrician, but it registers live on the AC current finder I use to check walks before I drill them!, As does the interior light, number plate light etc...

If you fitted one where would you put it?

Do those things pick up low voltage DC ?

I think there should be a microswitch on the catch that earths the lamp .

You could fit and wire a tilt switch in the boot lid, mercury free with a 1 amp rating is good enough for a 5 watt bulb

My S3 has a boot light that is wired via a microswitch fitted to the boot solenoid....
