I bought my Chim 500 new in March 2002, today the clock finally reached 100K. I have to say that I’ve enjoyed nearly every one of them. Over that period I’ve had one breakdown requiring a pickup and a start from the AA so I could drive to the garage to get a new battery.
And they say our cars are unreliable .

Are you on original Eibach/Billy springs and dampers ???
I ask because I'm just about to replace my 2001 Chims with Nitrons .
The Eibach spring and Bilstein spring 'set-up' available from Blackdown Automotive is the combo' that a lot of folks are raving about.I ask because I'm just about to replace my 2001 Chims with Nitrons .
I've had this combo put on my Tuscan and very happy with the handling.
The chap behind Blackdown is the person that did the research on the Sagaris and Tuscan 3 under Nickolai,

To update it looks like the car requires its first really expensive repair. Outriggers need replacing at £2200 + VAT.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the final price was more.
It will be a case of “whilst it’s here, why not get your suspension arms renewed? What about rebushing? Etc”.

UPDATE. Job done by Mat Smith at price quoted with advice to change the fuel pipes at the next service. Happy days.
Coincidentally I was driving up to see Mat a couple of weeks ago and took this just outside Downham Market
As he's been the one responsible for keeping it running so well it was a shame the magic number didn't come round 1.6 miles later when pulling up outside...perhaps I should have reversed the rest of the way
