Split roofs - still a thing?

Got one I don’t really need and don’t know what to do with it - is there still a market for them (if there ever was)?

I have a Surrey roof. Absolutely brilliant. Could not be without it. I had trouble getting the normal roof in the boot recently. I go to Le Mans every year but could not manage it without the Surrey roof. My mate has a Chimaera (but I have a Griffith) and we could manage with the normal roof but he now has a Surrey. Not sure how much room a split roof would take up in a Griff.

Much easier to pack and nowhere near as cumbersome.

I might be interested in a split roof. Is it ready to use or does it need covering?

I have a split roof and it fits in very well and easily even with the spare wheel in place. I tried a Surrey roof but found the bracing bar was immediately above my head and was sometimes touching so no use for me.

We have a friend with one. At classic Le Mans we had to cover it as it leaked. His explanation was it's made to fit the makers car, and as all tvrs are slightly different it doesn't fit right in places

Better than the one-piece roof but not as good as the Surrey Roof - single brace in the Tamora and S versions.

Sure it could be made weathertight with some thought, new seals and silicone tubing.

I bought a split roof off eBay last year having been looking for one for a while, and very happy with it. It doesn’t fit to my door glass quite as well as the original roof, but well enough. I didn’t want to cut my original one in half, so finding another is a great option for occasional use. If going out for the day and likely to not need a roof I’ll leave my original full roof in the garage and put the split roof in the boot to avoid needing to put the full panel into the bag then squeezing it into the boot.

I tried a Surrey roof and, while they’re clearly popular, I’m tall and didn’t like having the tension bar with fixings sticking out of it just above my head. So the split roof works better for me.

I expect you’ll be able to sell it easily enough.
