Still think his green M racer towards the end of his life was a fantastic looking car.

He certainly oversaw some epic cars that helped define the British sports car industry.

I've kept mine.

The pieces done by Ben Samuelson were very nicely written.
I was unaware of PW's connection to Southern Ireland until I read Ben's obit' - my sister lives in the Kinsale area and have often thought about having a nose to see if I could find his old business premises.

Bid at £6.50.

Yes he deserves credit for that although his refusal to deal with customer complaints properly or at all did not always make him popular.

Ben very kindly let us reprint part (if not all) of his eulogy at the Funeral so that's a very poignant piece.

TVR chassis were built in Kinsale Southern Ireland at one time, not listed in TVR history I met a guy who worked on then in Kinsale in July.

Well, never knew that. Guess it was the M-series chassis that were fab'd there?

My sister lives in Coolcarron, on the hill above Belgooly (pass through going into Kinsale on the N600), she worked at the cottage hospital for several years, so will have to get her on the case because she got to know many locals through the job.

On another note, the first time I had my (first) TVR over, we were parked at a pub on the Macroom road into Cork, and we'd barely started our first pint when Gerry the ROI RO came into the pub in his Chimaera asking who had the S on English plates? He lived just up the road!

My S2 broke down on the way home from its first 1000 mile service. An overnight stay and dinner for two and other expenses cost me nearly £200. I got no apology and £50 quid back. No he wasn't a peoples person but it did not put me off him.

Agree. I respect PW's achievements at TVR but I could have put my hands warmly around his neck.

Bidding is up to £18.45 now.

Makes my ebay listing look like a bargain as it also includes the Martin Lilley profile as well as the Peter Wheeler tribute.
